CT Fair Housing Center Brochure
When I started my role managing communications for the Connecticut Fair Housing Center, the organization had produced several issue- and service-specific brochures, such as “know your rights” brochures and guides on how to represent yourself in foreclosure.
However, the only general print marketing item the Center had was its Annual Report, a long, detailed, expensive-to-print publication that was geared more towards institutional funders than towards the average potential client, donor, or elected official.
The Center needed a shorter, brighter marketing piece that would quickly explain the organization’s unique work and highlight its impact. We needed a brochure!
I developed each section and wrote all of the copy. Graphic designer Karin Krochmal handled the design and layout. Photographs were by Roger Castonguay of Defining Studios. Artwork was from the Center’s annual fair housing poster contest (used with permission of the artists).

The brochure has since been distributed to hundreds of community organizations, funders, and legislators around Connecticut, as well as distributed to donors at the organization’s annual fundraising dinner.
