Advocacy Blog Post - the Fight for Fair Housing GOes On
2018 was the 50th anniversary of the federal Fair Housing Act. Unfortunately, it was impossible to celebrate the anniversary during a year that saw so many attacks on civil rights in general and fair housing in particular.
As part of my role managing communications and fundraising for the Connecticut Fair Housing Center (2015-2019) I wrote this blog post taking stock of where we were, both nationally and in Connecticut, fifty years after the passage of this critically important legislation. The post also included a list of ways readers could get involved in the fight for fair housing.
The post was written for the Center’s Executive Director (as we felt it would be more powerful coming from her) with her edits and approval. The post was also shared in the Center’s quarterly newsletter and on social media.
