First as a consultant and freelancer and later as the staff Communications Manager at the Child Health and Development Institute (CHDI), I have supported communications efforts before, during, and after their annual Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) Conference, which draws 400-500 children’s behavioral health providers from across the state.
Communications and marketing efforts included:
- Pre- and post-conference blog posts highlighting speakers, workshops, and honorees (cross-posted on social media and shared in newsletter). Examples:
- Social media before, during, and after conference to engage attendees and bolster organization’s position as a thought leader, leading to some of the highest engagement posts each year. Examples from 2025:
- In 2025, I led a quick refresh of the conference website, working closely with a developer to migrate the old site to WordPress, make it faster and easier for conference staff to update, and improve UI for conference attendees.
